When I saw these I thought ‘Inspiration for character concept artists? Yes!’
These are the paintings of James Roper, an English Artist whose work spans various mediums including painting, drawing, sculpture and film. They’re all acrylic on canvas and are from his collection entitled ‘Exvoluta’. I like the mishmashed figures he’s put together and paired with bright, bold colours. They’re spooky meets MTV fun!
Roper describes his own work as exploring the heightened realities depicted in Baroque art and modern media to the restraint and release of energy found within complex structures such as the human body. Thus far this work has been exhibited in London, New York, Los Angeles, Milan and Barcelona.
